United victorious in derby thriller

Manchester United survived a comeback from Manchester City to win 3-2 at the Etihad in a thrilling Manchester derby.

Wayne Rooney reached his 150 Premiership goals tally, becoming the youngest player to get to that record, by scoring twice in the first half-hour to put United 2-0 up, but with just 5 minutes to go after Yaya Toure pulled one back Pablo Zabaleta scored to level things up at 2-2.

Robin Van Persie had the last word, the 24 million man curling in a free-kick in stoppage time to secure a victory for the Red Devils and widen the gap to six points at the top of the table. It is also City's first home loss since 2010.

Liverpool came back from behind to beat West Ham away, with the Merseysiders grabbing a vital 3-2 win.

Two late goals from Everton grabbed them a 2-1 victory over Tottenham at Goodison Park, the Blues' leaping into into 4th place.
